Abstract
Various innovations in making paving blocks are made to meet development needs. Where the advantages of paving blocks include easy maintenance, faster implementation time, and easy installation. Paving block is a composition of building materials made from a mixture of Portland cement, fine aggregate, and water. Paving block is one of the building materials that is in great demand by the public as a ground cover material, in addition to cement, asphalt, and concrete which is usually applied to parking lots, parks, school yards, and so on according to the needs of its users. The writing of this article, has the aim of reviewing the results of previous research in the form of compressive test results on the utilization of shell waste in the manufacture of innovative materials in the form of paving blocks, therefore the research method in this article is literature review, literature review does not only mean reading literature, but more towards an in-depth and critical evaluation of previous research on a topic.
